Everyday Potential

I never thought of myself as “domestic”. I wasn’t one of those girls who have dreamt of their wedding since they were 10 – I didn’t think I would ever get married. I also couldn’t cook anything aside from Ramen Noodles. I guess I figured if I got married, I would have to stay home, not have a career, have a posse of kids, and have dinner on the table by 6 o’clock each night for the husband. That type of life wasn’t appealing to me at all. My trajectory shifted when I met my best friend, Michael. He was someone that I could see hanging out with forever. He didn’t push me to do anything I didn’t want to do, and he put up with me no matter what. I’m sure if I had never learned how to cook, he would’ve stuck with me just the same! We were married when I was 22. Ah, how life takes unexpected turns! I’ve since fell in love with decor, diy, cooking, baking, and all things domestic. My goal is to inspire others to make their domestic lives more fun by finding the potential in everyday. – Kristin DeKay

-I have 2 brothers, and 2 step-sisters

-I have 2 kitties, Patches & Sox

-I live in an 80 year old house

-I strive to eat fresh and un-processed food as much as possible

-I like to garden

-I love summer and loathe winter
